If you are fascinated by Egypt, its culture, its food or simply rekindle your memories of your last visit to Egypt then Cooking like Cleopatra is for you! 

Immerse yourself in this culinary multi-sensory experience of popular and new creations of Egyptian mezze. Together we will prepare and cook the most popular Egyptian dishes, some of which are dating back to the ancient pharaohs and some of them you may have seen *presented by Hairy Biker Chef Dave Myers about EGYPT (BBC 2 on 2 February 2015): “These recipes are absolutely delicious and so easy to learn…” 

Detailed description

You will be welcomed by Marina with Egyptian tea and appetizers followed by a short introduction to Egyptian culture and cuisine. You will then be introduced to the recipes and be guided through the preparation of up to six mezze dishes. The food prepared will be enjoyed during lunch and tea breaks and will include five savoury dishes and one dessert.

The dishes will be enjoyed together during lunch and tea breaks and will include:

  • Ful Medammes (Egypt’s national dish: Brown Fava Bean Stew) *
  • Egyptian Baba Ghanough (Aubergine Dip with Tahini), 
  • Egyptian Farmer Salad (Salata Baladi), 
  • Shak Shuka (Eggs in Tomato Sauce). 
  • Falafil (Ful Ta’amya) and Molokkhia* (a regal soup made from a spinach type vegetable,which is unique to Egypt)
  • Um Ali (Egyptian Dessert)*  

Some variations may occur on the day.

Cost includes tuition, all ingredients, refreshments and a six mezze meal freshly created by you!
